Barack Obama, Barack Obama, Barack Obama…not trying to impose my opinion.

Democratic rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama traded victories in an struggle with no end in sight as reported by MSNBC.

No victory for either on Super Tuesday 2008, that stretched across twenty-two states.  Barack Obama won thirteen states and Hillary Rodham Clinton eight plus American Samoa.

The heat is on…the historic struggle between the two senators, obvious: as Hillary Rodham Clinton seeks to become the first female president, and Barack Obama, hoping to become the first black to win the White House.  Hmmm, this is going to get interesting…either way we have change, but is it a change that everyone will believe in or will this become another form of politics at it’s best?

Handle your business, pursue your dream…the words of our guest speaker and my former principal Rev. Larry McDonald.

On Wednesday, January 30, 2008 the DNS Men had the opportunity to receive inspiring words during Chapel.  Mr. McDonald challenged our young men to embrace their dream and never let it go.  He expressed without hesitation be passionate about it and you can achieve it. 

What is the purpose of education?  DNS Men this question is for you…what is your purpose?  I dare you to Dream Big…I dare you to Pursue your Dream…I dare you to Handle your Business!

Finally it works…as you can see my blog is active.  I am looking forward to sharing information with my DNS Men and their families.  So, get ready it is going to be an exciting remainder of the year.

On Thursday, January 24, I had the opportunity to travel to St. Louis, Missouri to attend the Nativity Conference.  It was awesome as we shared and learned best practices for our students.  I can’t wait to implement many of them.

Folktales:  Our new unit for Literature…this will be the topic of discussion for the remainder of the trimester.  Our DNS Men will learn about the different types of folktales and their origination.  Each grade level will have a different project to complete…more details coming soon.

Grammar & Mechanics Challenge:  I will post various grammar & mechanic sentences each week.  Students will have until Friday of that week to respond to the post…let the games begin!
